Dear Wemdu - Office Politics Edition
I work/intern in public (not pubic - thank you Tanya E. my boss at the newspaper classified dept.) education. Every day of the few short months I have been interning at an over-crowded Jr. High in a fairly affluent neighborhood in a extremely homogeneous area of a largely homogeneous state I have dealt with some sort of office politics. Some of it has been "territorial" issues, some has been an "I don't want to be the one doing all the work" issue, some of it has been down-right personal and mean.
All of this has got me to thinkin'...Do I really want to subject myself to this day in and day out for the next 30 years of my life or should I quit, go work at a movie theater sweeping carpets at night, and enjoy my time reading and watching reality TV?
Those of you in public education, or anywhere else for that matter, what have you found helpful in dealing with the office politics?
Sincerely,
Office Grunt Looking for Some Peace!

Meme - Where were you when...
Princess Diana Died - August 31, 1997.... I'm not sure but I remember being really sad about it. It was one of those I'm-actually-an-adult-and-I-have-to-be-okay-with-the-world-not-being-okay moments.
Attack on Twin Towers - September 11, 2001... At work in the science lab at my university at the time. We watched it on the Internet and I cried all morning.
John F. Kennedy Assassination - June 5, 1968... Wasn't even a twinkle in my parents eye.
The Challenger Disaster - January 26, 1986...In my 4th grade classroom watching on the TV. I remember not really understanding what was going on but Audrey Turner was crying so I thought I needed to also??? Weird 9 year old mind.
Okay...Now your turn. Answer the where were you whens and add some more whens!

Plan B
I know how it happened. I am not quite sure why.
I accidentally erased my old blog. :( I'm very sad about it because it was my way of journaling about my kiddos lives. But oh well....life goes on....this is by far the least stressful thing in my life right now...so I will just start over. :)
Hope you all find me again. Hope I can find you all again.
