I think this can be true after today.

I had my first actual counseling session with a student today. It was nice to finally be doing some actual work with students. The poor kid is being picked on and is just SO sad. But he said he felt more optimistic about life after talking to me. That felt SO good to hear. :)

The last few months have been quite difficult because I am starting my internship and am learning SO much every day. I have been feeling down about how much I need to know and be able to implement on a daily basis. It is overwhelming to sit and watch the pros do it so effortlessly. I have been afraid to pale in comparison. Well...then I get in a room with a sad kid like today and it all comes together. That is why I do what I do. These kids sometimes just need someone to talk to. I LOVE IT! I have the opportunity to help kids and that is one of the best callings in the world...in my humble opinion!

I just may be able to do this being a grown-up thing.
But I still have some time to change my mind! ;)

I LOVE this background.
It is a reminder of Plan B!! :)

Carnival 2008

Every year Bug's school puts on a carnival fundraiser at her school (which is great fun and we don't have to sell wrapping paper or coupon books!). It was lots of fun.

This year the girls in Bug's class played bells and the boys played sticks. It was cute. Bug was buried (because she is still 1/2 a foot shorter than most of them) in the crowd and I didn't get a very good shot of her. So here is the side shot of her standing by her friend Bri.

The kiddos played some games and jumped in the big jumping gym.

Mikey made his golf shot for a toy!! He chose a pirates hat.

Planning Ahead

Bug was telling me the other day what she wants to be when she grows up. She said that she wants to be a rock star like the Cranberries (she loves their music). But then she thought for a second and said something about needing to do something else to make money because it's hard to make it as a rock star. So she said...."I'll be a painter." :)

I think I better start saving now for her college years!

Genetics

Those who know me well know that I do not know the complete lyrics to any song. In fact, I tend to make up my own words as I go along. Well...it seems to be genetic.

Bud was trying to sing the Michael Jackson song Man in the Mirror today...and instead of "I'm talking to the man in the mirror," he said, "I'm stalking in the man in the mirror!" :)

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head

It finally rained last weekend!! I love rain.
I love the thunder and lightening.
I love the smell the best!
The kiddos had a good time splashing in the puddles!
Bug wanted to see if the rain would bounce
off her construction helmet! :)

Fall is Coming!!! YEE-HAW

Something To Lighten your Day...

If you can not read the caption it says...

"Now I know why they call it ICU."
