Morning Hike
We went up to Wheeler Canyon today and hiked. It was nice being in nature. The kids brought their notebooks and pencils to draw pictures of what they see. Michael drew pictures of landmarks along the way up the hike. As we came back down we followed his drawings to see how close we were to the car. First the rock, then the broken tree, then the horse poop, and finally the yellow flowers. :)We played in the river for a minute and watched a butterfly who was not afraid of us or the camera! :) On the way down....a couple with two dogs came up the hill. Michael freaked out and started to run...the dog chased...he then fell and scraped up his knees. He just gets SO scared. However, Megan wasn't afraid of the dog this time! :) The hike kicked my butt. Megan wanted to go longer, but it was getting a little too hot.
It was nice to be out and about.

How fun. I enjoy a good hike, sounds like you had a good time... even if it ended with a dog encounter- EEK!
